Pete and George are old friends. In fact, such good old friends that George has been Pete's best man at both of his weddings. Pete, now happily married to Sarah, is appalled when George arrives with the news that his first wife Jessica was not killed in a climbing accident as they had thought but is alive and well and keen to resume her life with Pete. Pete, not that clear-thinking in a crisis such as this, tries to find a way to explain everything and keep everyone happy; George, loyal to a fault in helping out his friends (all of them!), but not the fastest on the uptake, does his best to help. Add into this Sarah’s domineering mother (who always suspects Pete of something) and Jessica, who may not be all she seems, and hilarity ensues.

Character Descriptions:
(All ages are approximate; relationships need to be believable)

Pete – (30’s-40’s) a pleasant man living happily with his second wife; his first wife was lost on a mountain in Tibet. He lives a comfortable life and is not a devious man by nature, but seismic events cause him to panic.

George – (30’s- 40’s) Pete’s friend. Loyal (to a fault) to all his friends, he tries his best to help at every turn, even if it turns out be a disaster. Sweet personality, but perhaps not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Alan – (40’s) a charming man with an eye for the ladies, even if he already has one.

Sarah – (30’s) – Pete’s second wife. Appealing young woman with an imagination, particularly in the area of romance. Has a tendency to rush to conclusions.

Margot – (50’s- 60’s) Sarah’s mother. A formidable woman, devoted/possessive of her daughter; she’s always a little distrustful/suspicious of Pete.

Jessica – (30’s – 40’s) Pete’s first wife (apparently not lost on a mountain in Tibet). She has returned, planning to pick up where she and Pete left off, not knowing that Pete has re-married. She has a few surprises of her own.
