Generations Capital Campaign

Today, through an unprecedented response from members, many generous private donors, public and private foundations, Natick-based businesses and the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund, TCAN has expanded its facility with a state-of-the-art digital screening room and performance space.

Our Cinema Room provides a new home for independent films, documentaries, new releases, family films and art house movies in the heart of MetroWest. It also serves as a venue for established and emerging talent in classical music, expanding our artistic canvas and unleashing the potential of our growing organization.

TCAN's Generations Capital Campaign hopes to secure TCAN’s future for generations to come. The campaign's goal is to accomplish three things: renovate and restore TCAN’s second floor into a second multipurpose performance space and digital screening room, retire remaining debt from the first phase of construction when the Arts Center opened in 2003, and establish a capital reserve fund to support ongoing preservation of the facility.

Create a more sustainable organization

To purchase the facility and complete the first phase of renovation in 2003 required a total project investment of $2.5M -- which included incurring a debt of $750,000. With the generosity of individual donors and prudent management of resources, the debt has been reduced by over 50% in the last ten years. With the elimination of remaining debt, TCAN can redirect operating funds currently used for debt service towards the creation of new programs.

Protect and preserve a historical treasure

Additional funds raised in the campaign will establish a capital reserve fund to support on-going repairs, maintenance and upgrades to the facility. Repairs to concrete floors, a replacement of the roof and improvements to HVAC systems are required. Replacement of dated theatrical lighting fixtures is inevitable. As the arts evolve in a world of changing technologies and trends, we will identify opportunities to reduce energy while preserving the history of the Firehouse.

Now it's up to you.

A pledge of support at any level will make a difference in preserving TCAN for generations to come.

Gifts of $3,000 or more will be recognized permanently on TCAN’s Capital Campaign recognition wall, to be displayed in the renovated facility. For gifts of this size, pledges will be accepted over a three year period.  Make a contribution online using the link above, or see below for a pledge form.
