TCAN Reopening Begins July 13

Welcome back to TCAN!

Our top priority is the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, and staff. With that in mind, we’ve been working hard to get ready to reopen safely. We have designed “TCAN CLEAN" policies and procedures to help keep you safe, by ensuring we are compliant with new health and safety guidelines from the CDC and Commonwealth of MA public health organizations.

As of July 6, 2020, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts entered Phase III, Step 1 of the plan to gradually reopen businesses safely. In this Phase, indoor movie theaters are permitted to reopen with a maximum capacity of 25 persons. At this time, all music concerts, comedy, and theatrical performances at TCAN remain suspended until the announcement of Step 2 of Phase III. The beginning date of Phase III, Step 2 has yet to be determined by state public health authorities.

Here are the changes you can expect from us on your next visit.

  • Reduced Capacity: The screening room capacity will be limited to 25 persons (20% of capacity), this includes all staff and volunteers. Group sizing will be limited to 4 persons ensuring 6 feet between seated groups. Rows of seats have been removed from the Cinema Room to allow comfortable seating with easy access, with three empty seats between each party (three seats = six feet). If you are uncomfortable in your seat for any reason, feel free to relocate to another socially distant seat at any time, or see a member of our event staff for assistance.
  • Event Protocol: At this time, there will be no walk-up sales available. Tickets must be purchased online and in advance of all screenings. Concessions sales will also be suspended during this reopening phase and there will be no intermissions.
  • Social Distancing: Please remember to social distance before, during and after the movie. Directional signs and reminders will be posted throughout the building for guidance. Groups/single patrons will be admitted into the building one party at a time.
  • Enhanced Cleaning Procedures: Common areas and high touch points will be routinely disinfected throughout the day. There will be extra time between movies to allow for cleaning. Bathrooms will be equipped with soap and water and alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer will also be available at entrances and throughout the facility. And we have upgraded our HVAC system to provide a superior level of air filtration.
  • Screening On Entry: We will screen all patrons with contactless temperature checks, wellness questions, and provide hand sanitizer as you enter the building.
  • Health Protocol: Event Staff and volunteers have been trained on all safety protocols. All Event Staff and patrons will have contactless temperature checks upon entry of the building and will be screened with wellness questions. All staff and patrons feeling sick or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will be denied entry. While on duty, all Event Staff will be required to wash and sanitize hands, wear masks and wear protective gloves.

How you can help keep our community safe

  • Consistent handwashing: Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face. Please take advantage of the hand sanitizer stations and disinfecting wipes that will be positioned throughout the building.
  • PPE required: To protect yourself and others we will require that all patrons wear masks as they enter the facility and enjoy movies at our cinema.
  • Contactless Transactions: Tickets must be purchased online at natickarts.org. There will be no walk-up ticket sales available. Movie schedule can be found online at natickarts.org/movies
  • Social Distancing: Maintain social distance before, during, and as you exit the movie. No gathering will be permitted in the lobby before or following the screening. Signs will be posted throughout the theatre for guidance.
  • Stay Home: If you have symptoms such as fever or cough, or have come in contact with someone with symptoms, please stay home – don’t worry, we’ll be here for you when you feel better.

TCAN will continue to closely monitor federal, state, and local guidelines and adjust our policies and procedures accordingly.
